Advantages
The unique feature of N06985 alloy is its excellent corrosion resistance. The addition of molybdenum and copper to the alloy gives it excellent resistance to a variety of corrosive media, including sulfuric acid, hydrochloric acid and seawater environments. In addition, the chromium and iron elements in the alloy provide additional resistance to oxidizing and reducing environments, making it stable at temperatures up to approximately 760°C (1400°F).
Applications
HASTELLOY reduction Alloy G-3is particularly suitable for handling acids such as phosphoric acid and sulfuric acid.
(1)It is used in flue gas desulfurization systems (scrubbers), especially in the quencher, quencher and outlet duct areas.
(2)It can be used in other air pollution control systems in the chemical and pulp and paper industries.
(3)It is ideal for use in phosphoric acid manufacturing plant evaporators, basements, tank linings and other equipment.
(4)Today's exploration for oil and gas results in a range of highly corrosive environments, which in turn require a range of high-nickel alloys that are resistant to corrosive environments. HASTELLOY Alloy G-3 is one such alloy that offers an excellent combination of mechanical properties and strength. This alloy is widely used as OCTG (Oil Well Tubing) in high temperature sour environments.
